Citadel of Ghent, Historyczna forteca w Belgii

Cytadela w Gandawie stanowi wybitną historyczną strukturę w mieście Gandawa, Flandria.

Zbudowana na początku XIX wieku, jej założenie zostało zarządzone przez króla Wilhelma I jako mechanizm obronny.

Chociaż sama cytadela nie jest już nienaruszona, odegrała znaczące role w różnych konfliktach, takich jak rewolucja belgijska.

Dziś pozostałości cytadeli przyczyniają się do malowniczego i architektonicznego uroku Gandawy.

Jej strategiczne położenie na zbiegu rzek Skaldy i Leye dodaje historycznego uroku miejscu.
